When we first met Cheryl Thompson, she was working with our sister and brother-in-law to find them their first home. My husband and I had a newborn at the time, and we didn’t believe we were in the position to be able to purchase a house of our own. However, Cheryl’s confidence, competence, and in-depth knowledge of the local market soon had us believing maybe we could stop renting as well.
I’m not sure how she did it, but on one of our first outings, she took us to a house that we would never have found on our own. It didn’t match what we thought we were looking for, but that was absolutely perfect for us. “This one’s a little ‘quirky’,” she said with a smile as she led us through the artsy, cottage like, fully detached find. It turned out to be just a block from the house my sister and brother-in-law bought.
We loved it on sight, but it was a little out of our price range. We almost walked away, but Cheryl took over the negotiations – and in an almost unheard of event nowadays – we were able to buy the house for under the asking price. Our son took his first steps the day we moved in.
